Co-ops and internships are great ways to get real experience in the business world. Many companies today are only looking at resumes of students who have completed co-ops or internships. If you are interested in either, please contact the Career Center or the School of Business & Economics Advisor, Brad Wagner. Periodically, the dean will e-mail opportunities to students.
I'm interning at a company called NSK down in Ann Arbor MI in the IT department.
Half the time I help man the company help desk which supports the headquarters in Ann Arbor and the four or five other plants and offices around the US. The other half is usually spent setting up computers to new users, upgrading existing boxes, and finding new ways to help manage company IT assets.
NSK makes ball bearings and steering columns for different car manufactures.
I am an Intern with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a Financial Representative. I am licensed in Life, Accident and Health insurance in the State of Michigan.
Job Duties:
Meet With Clients—I set up appointments to discuss my clients' current financial situation.
Analyze the Client's Situation—After extensive fact-finding, I uncover long-term goals that are used to help determine my client's needs.
